Our 5" (125mm) Chimney flue hotbox is designed to use with any standard 16" wide gas fire & 5" (125mm) gas flue liner. The hotbox is constructed of high-quality galvanised metal and is meant to be connected to 125 mm (5 inch) flue pipe systems.
A hotbox is a box that sits around the flame within your gas stove. The box holds and controls the heat loss to the chimney. The purpose of a hotbox is to deliver more heat to the room and not lose it all up the chimney stack. The chimney flue hotbox for gas fires is commonly fitted into a rectangular opening, so they are not suitable for most "cast iron fireplace" stoves.
Our Chimney Flue Hotboxes meet the requirements of BS 715:1993, and have been designed for use with those Live Fuel Effect gas fires to BS 7977-1: 2002 which are too big for the recessed gas flue box. They are well constructed and durable so they look good and will last for years.
Our 5" (125mm) Chimney flue hotbox must only be used with modular one-piece appliances and not gas fires consisting of separate parts that require assembly on site (often referred to as Decorative Gas Fires).
