Fireplaces bring a sense of warmth to any room, even during the summer. If you have a room that doesn't already have a fireplace, adding an electric fire will give you this warm effect without the expense of adding a completely new fireplace. Electric fires have the flame and smoke effects of a traditional fireplace so it is difficult to discern the difference. You can get them with a coal or pebble base that allows you to customise the look to your interior design.
Electric fires often come in an inset design that requires a fireplace or fire surround to complete its construction. This design works well if you like a traditional look. However, if you want a more modern style, a freestanding fire is the better choice.
If you want to convert a Dimplex inset electric fire into a freestanding one, you need a special spacer. The spacer fits around the outside of the appliance, allowing it to stand on its own. It also allows the fire to be fitted flat to a wall, without any worries about fire or other concerns.
The Dimplex Optimyst spacer kit (OSP-002) provides all the parts needed to convert certain Dimplex Optimyst inset fires to freestanding versions. This spacer is 70mm deep and designed only for this line of electric fire.

- great service and the spacer kit problem solved
had bought an electric dimplex Danville fire from the fireplace warehouse in Burnley a few weeks ago and last week unboxed it to put it in my existing fireplace opening which was too small so I went back to the store and spoke to the salesman who I had dealt with who was extremely helpful by selling me the optional spacer kit which clipped onto the fire so it could go flat against the granite back panel on my fireplace without any hassle

- A great product that sorted out the problem straight away by simply clicking on to the back of the fire
needed a spacer kit for my new optimist electric fire as their was no opening available as it was a flat wall fit and the fire needed to be free standing against the back panel on the fireplace so visited the fireplace warehouse in Burnley and picked one up from them the same day
